Hi to all! Although slightly delayed, this is my formal introduction so that customers have a better idea of the employees here at Crawford boys. First off, my name is Iris. I moved to Toronto about two years ago, from Cairo, Egypt. It was a bit of a shock to the system, but Toronto being the diverse and welcoming city it is, I didn’t find it too difficult assimilating. I finished my last year of high school here and I’m currently attending George Brown College for the Fashion Management program. I saw a posting on our school website for an opportunity to work at Crawford boys and upon further investigation it sounded like a place I’d love to work at.
Having limited retail experience, I was very glad to hear that Paul was willing to teach me the ropes of the industry. It’s been a great time so far (3 months), I’ve learned more about retail working here part time than I’d ever known before. I have to say, I got quite lucky finding a job that I enjoy working at so much and that’s directly in the field I want to be in. Paul, Caitlin and Charlotte have all been very patient and fantastic mentors making my transition into the Crawford family absolutely painless. In the future, I hope to run my own store and working here where everything is very transparent and open is an example of how I might want my store to function as well.
As for our customers, its always really nice to see familiar faces, and even those that aren’t regulars, its great seeing how comfortable they are shopping here, knowing that they’re in good hands. It’s a very good feeling contributing to a boy getting his perfect suit and the whole family being pleased with it, even if it does take a couple tries. I look forward to meeting and helping out all of the customers I can while working here. I can guarantee hard work to ensure the (often dreaded) shopping trip is effective and efficient, so come in and say hi to the team!
